We recorded this very quickly in 2006. This was the heaviest thing I'd ever recorded, and I felt a little out of my depth, but I was blown away by how tight they were. Happy to finally see this out in the modern world. 🤘

One Stop is a very fun listen, sitting squarely in the middle of pop-rock, ska and reggae. Great songs and great performances.

Shane Marler began studying Gypsy Jazz in 2005. With the heart of a gypsy, Shane travels each year to the Django Reinhardt festival in Samois-Sur-Seine, France. Tzigane is the premiere album for Shane and showcases stunning guitar work, and an overall appreciation of the style that is hard to find in the United States. While this is only the beginning of his career in the Gypsy Jazz world, his arrangements and writing ensure he will have many releases to come.

The most notable change here, besides her own journey in songwriting, is Nikki’s leap from solo-artist-with-guitar to lead singer with a killer backup band featuring cello, dobro, additional guitar, mandolin, keyboard, bass, fiddle and voices providing harmonic depth. The result is downright orchestral, with instruments lovingly wrapped around Nikki’s soulful melodies. Nonetheless, her rich solo voice and thoughtful lyricism are the real standouts.

An eclectic blend of funk, jazz and reggae from the heartland, Project H is the primary musical project of Ryan Heinlein. As a composer, arranger and bandleader, Ryan plants his flag here in Project H. As a trombonist-at-large, his resume is huge: Mike Finnegan, Rudy Love, Ophil, The Fabulous Flippers, Roomful of Walters and (literally) dozens more. He is also a clinician and adjuciator on the festival circuit.

Born and raised in Kansas, 21 year old Jennifer Pettersen releases her debut-album, Roots & Wings. Jennifer's star is on the rise, both as a solo performer and with her oddball combos (Jenny Lou and the Buckaroos, The Cherokee Maidens). This CD showcases her songwriting, with original material written by Jennifer starting at age 14.

This CD puts Digitalboy artist Bryan Masters onstage in his regular gig with longtime musical co-consipirator Dennis Hardin. The Buddha boys recorded their June '07 concert at Cabaret Old Town in Wichita, Kansas, offering up 18 of Masters' songs (10 previously unreleased).
In addition to their time-honored duet act, Dennis and Bryan are joined by local rhythm kings John Probst on bass and Steve Hatfield on drums. The addition is stunning, with the rhythm section remapping the potential of each song. Barney Byard and Shalen Scheltgen bring the backing vocals for the show-closing "Grace" and one awesome bonus track.

This live concert DVD gives you a front-row experience at Split Lip Rayfield's December '06 Cotillion show in Wichita, Kansas -- the last hometown show before SLR guitarist, co-founder and stage general Kirk Rundstrom lost his battle with cancer. The footage shows Kirk in remarkably ferocious form, but moreover highlights a road-seasoned band in peak form.
It is pointless to try to describe Split Lip Rayfield. If you've seen them live, no description is necessary; if you haven't seen them, no description is adequate. (Don't worry -- this DVD will explain everything.)
Kirk Rundstrom hammers his guitar, Wayne Gottstine shreds the mandolin, Eric Mardis maps new battlefields on the banjo and Jeff Eaton amazes with the Stitchgiver, his one-string gas tank bass. Everybody writes, and everybody sings. Put this DVD in the home stereo, sit down and crank it. You'll swear you're there.

This might be the first jazz CD that I would hand someone who is not into jazz. Some of the best musicians I’ve ever been around playing serious music with a serious sense of humor.
Wichita City Paper's Jedd Beaudoin says:
"If there is hope for jazz in this still-young century it rests in the hands and hearts of artists such as Steve Hatfield, a composer and player dedicated to clarity of expression, to the melody, harmony and rhythms of music as well as life."
Steve is a great friend and an encyclopedia of drumming. I’m lucky to have him on probably 90% of the recordings I make.

This CD is basically a semi-remix of LBB's "Baggage" E.P. with some outstanding new tunes. It sounds like a band who is still discovering who they are and what they can do with these new-found super-powers.

When we started recording, we only planned on making a simple demo with only four songs -- because that's all she'd ever written. But great new songs started pouring out of her as the project went along, and we eventually ended up with this fantastic full-length debut. Nikki's musical vocabulary expanded so quickly, and it was fun to watch the record grow at the same rate. (We actually re-recorded some vocals near the end of the project as Nikki's singing got better and better.)
Honorable mention goes out to Mr. Steve Hatfield for some incredible "outside the box" percussion. Also to Terry Quiett who slipped in some vocal and guitar stuff early on that fits in so well, it seems like it was always there.
And, of course, to our gal Nikki who stepped up to the plate and delivered amazing songs and great performances.

This was a fun project to work on -- very nice guys. Together, we made their promising debut EP. Their style falls somewhere between John Mayer and Ben Folds. Strong vocals and an emphasis on the piano really set this band apart.
Clearly ambassadors to their own musical generation, here's what the LBB boys have to say about their music: “We’re just so optimistic and excited about our music right now. The chemistry between us is growing so fast that it’s tough to keep up with the number of songs we’ve been writing.”

This was the first recording done in the new studio, in fact 2 of the tracks were recorded and mixed at the old studio. It was a fun project to do for many reasons. Guinn has been a friend for several years and he has written some really great songs. The drummer and bass player were my old bandmates, so we locked into our groove pretty quickly. We rehearsed the songs as a band, then laid it all out a track at a time.
The result is a great storyteller's record, backed up by a strong real-band feel.

In the bluegrass family-band tradition, these guys have sung together since they were grandbabies. A longtime favorite of the Walnut Valley Festival, they've recorded plenty of records over their long tenure, but none they liked much. They recorded this record with a sense of legacy, and it could easily have been a portrait of a band that once was. Instead, this is a vital and current accounting of a great bluegrass band hitting its stride.
This record was recorded live, on location at The Artichoke Sandwich Bar with a small invitation-only audience. It was recorded with a Mackie board and way too many SM-57s.
All songs were done in one take.

We took our time making this record, working to match the arrangements and production perfectly to each song. Bryan is a gifted songwriter, and the imagery of the songs begged for a broad array of stylings. The record ranges from pop to gospel to bluegrass in a wide swath of folk-rock.
This record was recorded with a huge cast of characters -- but always the same rhythm section. Zillions of tracks overdubs and many gigabytes of data. On one song, we counted one hundred individual strings. Try keeping 100 strings in tune.

We were in the middle of recording sessions for Thundar the Boy Giant, and it was coming together great. During a lull in the action, we decided to do this minimal, all-acoustic record -- very fast, very live, very cool. It was awarded Demorama's coveted "Kicker of Ass" award.

Jingles are basically sound branding. A catchy jingle is one of the best ways to convey an advertising message. Jingles should be simple and teach the listener something. In fact, jingles are the best way to learn anything. Remember how much you learned from School House Rock or how LMNOP go together in the alphabet?
Love it or hate it (and we all remember some of those we hated), plain and simple, a good jingle will convey your idea in a memorable way.
LYRICS. Digitalboy will work with you to determine what makes your business better, unique—your special sauce so to speak. Then, we will masterfully create short, catchy lyrics that represent you.
MUSIC. Next, in the world of jingles, music is everything and must reach listeners on a personal level. Digitalboy creators have an encyclopedia-like knowledge of music genres, artists, and styles. Additionally, we have relationships with “cream of the crop” local artists. Your music will be on-point and of the highest quality.
SOUND. Yes, music is everything, but quality sound is also critical and can set your jingle apart. No “local” sound here. In our personal recording studio, our creators have been recording bands (and a few jingles) for more than a decade. We are persnickety about sound!
The bottom line: A great jingle = catchy lyrics + great music by quality musicians + high quality sound.
Icing on your jingle cake: Licensing is not our gig . . . we create it, you own it.

WHAT WE OFFER
Not many can do what we do. We understand the gravity of these moments. We don’t just upload photos into a power point. Bottom line: we work hard to elicit all the feels!
Music is everything. Our designers have an encyclopedia-like knowledge of music genres, artists, and styles. We layer the perfect soundtrack to set the scene and tell your story.
